Torpedoes: 2 x 533mm. Mk25 fixed tubes. Mk37 torpedoes. 2 x Mk32 triple tubes for Mk44 A/S torpedoes.

Radar: Search: SPS 40; Tactical: SPS 10; Navigation: Decca RM 426; Fire Control: 1 x Mk37 director with Mk25 radar. 1 x Mk56 director with Mk35 radar.
Sonar: SQS 29, hull mounted; 1 x VDS SQA 10.
Countermeasures: ESM: AN/WLR 1.
Helicopter: 1 x Hughes 369 ASW.

Comment: Ordered in 1948. Originally of the same design as Oquendo. Towed to Cartagena for reconstruction to a new design. The ship was re-launched on 2nd March 1968, after being lengthened and widened. Weapons and electronics identical to Gearing FRAM II. In autumn 1981 she was damaged in the boiler-room by a bomb attack by ETA. Repairs costed about 10 million pesetas.
